National Tennis Championships.  Northern California has a long and rich tradition of being the home to national-caliber tennis championships.  For the fifth time in the more than 20-year history that junior national tennis championships have been played at Almaden Valley Athletic Club, the 2006 USTA Girls’ 18 National Championships is being organized by a separate non-profit corporation - National Tennis Championships (or “NTC”).  NTC was founded in 1999 by Jennifer Pitzen and Andrea Norman, AVAC members and long-time volunteers for The Nationals.  These women are the sole officers and directors of NTC and serve as tournament directors for The Nationals, overseeing all aspects of the event.  They also serve as tournament directors for the AVAC Doubles Classic, a popular NTRP adult tournament held in May as a fundraiser for NTC and the programs it supports.

Hawgs Seafood Bar in Campbell was first opened by Steven and Matthew Hardin on December, 1996. Following its success, Hawgs II opened in downtown San Jose in 2000. The Campbell's Seafood Bar sports the ambiance of a real marina cafe. A wrap-around bar attended by high wooden stools encircles an open kitchen of gleaming stainless steel.  The airy ceiling, smartly emphasized by spotlights and potted plants, lends the place roominess greater than its 10-table capacity.  The second Hawgs in downtown San Jose offers a upscale ambiance in a warehouse styled building. Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health is devoted exclusively to promoting, protecting, and sustaining the health of children, with a focus on San Mateo and Santa Clara counties in Northern California. Recognizing that no single strategy can address the diverse health needs of children, the Foundation pursues its mission through three distinct yet complementary programs: Fundraising for Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and the pediatric programs at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Grantmaking to promote the health and well being of children through partnerships with community organizations in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
